If the 18" doll had a baby brother or sister, what size would look about right? I found some cute 10" baby dolls online but I'm not sure the size would be right. It would be sweet to give Kirsten or Addy a baby sibling.

Here are some pictures of the younger siblings I made for our girls. If the 10" doll's head is the right size, it could work. Our Polly is only 6", but she is meant to be an infant. She is shorter than she appears in the photos, because she is wearing a long gown which is a a couple of inches longer than she is.
Brad is a 13" Gotz Kinderland doll.
Esther is a 13" Zapt Colette Doll.
Nan is a 16" Zapt Collete Doll.
Polly is a 6" Schwartz Triplet Doll.

The American Girls are approximately 1:3 ratio. The exact ratio (for a 9 year old of average height) would be 1:2.89 which would mean an average newborn baby doll would be 6.75 inches long. Hope this helps.

Here are some more photos of the dolls undressed and next to each other to show relative size.

Also wanted to add, a 10" doll would be the correct length for a sibling between 12 and 18 months old. However, pay attention to the doll's proportions. For example, the Gotz Maxy Muffins, at 15", are the correct length for a 5 or 6 year old sibling, but they are proportioned like a toddler, so they don't look exactly right with the AGs.

The ten inch Tonner Anne Estelle etc. make a nice smaller sister. They don't look like babies though. More like 4 to 6 years.

I really like my 10'' Gotz Pia baby doll. She is used in the family portrait picture on my website, and is just generally precious, though she is actually more sized to My Twinn. I think it depends on the baby doll's girth/size. She looks more like a 6-9 month old baby when the AGS hold her and more like a three month old for My Twinns.
